Terms of service
These terms cover your Front Step Sites account and website. They're written to be read. If something here doesn't make sense, email hello@frontstepsites.com.
What you get
A website for your business, hosting, one domain registered in your name, and the change requests your plan includes, as listed on our pricing when you sign up. New pages and small changes are included. A redesign, a new logo, online booking, payments, a store, or custom features get a written quote first. We never charge for extra work you haven't approved.
Billing
- Plans are billed up front, yearly (or monthly where offered), through Stripe.
- Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Billing page in your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your site stays up through the time you've paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- If a payment fails, we'll email you and retry. If it stays unpaid, we may pause your site until it's settled.
Your domain
Your domain is registered in your name and belongs to you. You can move it to another provider any time after the registry's 60-day lock on new registrations and transfers. We don't charge a transfer fee. If you cancel, we stop renewing the domain at the end of your paid term unless you move it first.
Your content
You own the text, photos, and logos you give us. You give us permission to use them to build, host, and show your website. Only send us material you have the right to use, and keep the facts about your business accurate. We write your site from what you tell us; tell us if anything needs correcting and we'll fix it.
What we won't host
Anything illegal, anything that infringes someone else's rights, adult content, scams, or content meant to deceive visitors. We may take down content like that and close the account.
What we don't promise
We work to keep your site fast, online, and set up well for search, but we can't guarantee search rankings, a number of visitors or leads, or uninterrupted uptime. The service is provided as is, to the extent the law allows.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.
Ending the service
You can cancel any time. We can suspend or close an account for non-payment or for breaking these terms, and we'll tell you why by email.
Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.
